About

Jamie Provan

Even as a kid, I knew i’d end up in some kind of profession either designing, fabricating or fixing something. I’ve always been very hands on and curious as to how things work and how they’re made; the backbone of our constructed world was no exception.

I was offered an apprenticeship straight out of highschool in a steel detailing office with one of Scotland’s largest steel fabricators, J&D Pierce, before moving to Essex to join Apex Steel Structures in 2015. Working with a prestigious steel firm, well respected in London, they have given me the chance to work closely alongside some of the UKs largest contractors and engineering firms such as Sir Robert McAlpine, BAM, Kier and Laing O’Rourke inside some of London’s most iconic buildings such as the Queen Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben), Churchill’s Old War Office, Whitechapel station, Space House, and the new Google Headquarters adjacent to Kings Cross St Pancras.

I have 14 years, hands on, full-time industry experience, alongside 8 total years of part-time academic learning through college in Glasgow and university in Greenwich where I obtained my Masters in Civil Engineering in addition to countless hours of my own continued professional development, consolidating and putting into practice everything i’ve learned.

I always work to my fullest potential and will never stop learning or trying new things. I pride myself on being very down to earth with the ability to explain complex topics easily where required. Overall, I’m really just here to turn your conceptual vision into physical reality, and I think that’s really cool.
